Credit and debit cards
Customers can use eligible major card brands through Stripe-hosted checkout. 850 Work never receives or stores the full card number or security code.
850 Payments
850 Payments connects invoices, customers, jobs, payment links, and bookkeeping records while Stripe securely handles online payment details and merchant payouts. Accept eligible cards, digital wallets, bank payments, and pay-over-time methods; record cash or checks; and create customer-approved monthly billing for signed service contracts.
How it works
Payment methods
850 Payments uses Stripe dynamic payment methods for one-time online checkout. Stripe shows only the methods that are active and eligible for that connected business, customer, device, currency, location, and transaction amount. A method listed here might not appear on every checkout.
Customers can use eligible major card brands through Stripe-hosted checkout. 850 Work never receives or stores the full card number or security code.
Eligible customers can use a supported wallet on a compatible browser or device. These wallets depend on card payments being enabled for the connected business.
Returning Link customers can use saved payment information through Stripe's accelerated checkout when Stripe makes Link available for that transaction.
Eligible U.S. customers can authorize payment with Cash App when it is active for the connected business and supported for the checkout.
Eligible business-to-business transactions can offer a bank payment option. Processing time, limits, fees, and availability are determined by Stripe and the banking method.
Amazon Pay can appear for eligible one-time checkouts when enabled and supported for the connected merchant, customer, and transaction.
Eligible customers may see Klarna pay-over-time choices. Klarna decides approval and terms; the business does not approve the customer inside 850 Work.
This option can appear when the business, customer, amount, and location meet Stripe and Afterpay eligibility requirements. It is not guaranteed on every payment link.
Stripe may present an enabled financing provider, such as Sunbit, when the checkout qualifies. The provider controls approval, disclosures, repayment terms, and availability.
Owners can record cash and check payments in 850 Work so the invoice, receipt, tax ledger, and reports stay accurate. These payments are recorded, not processed by Stripe.
A signed service contract can create a customer-approved monthly card schedule. No recurring charge begins until the customer accepts it in Stripe checkout.
Cash and check recording is available now. Stripe Terminal readers and Tap to Pay require the approved native Terminal integration and are not represented as live until that rollout is complete.
Why options change
Availability details are maintained against Stripe's official documentation for connected-account payment methods and Terminal and Tap to Pay.
Built into the workspace
Email Center attaches the exact generated invoice PDF and adds the invoice's secure 850 Payments link when the balance is still unpaid.
Generate a link for a technician standing with the customer, select any active client, or enter a recipient name and email for a standalone request.
For a signed contract, create a monthly approval link. Billing begins only after the customer reviews the amount, enters payment details, and approves on Stripe.
Review payment volume, pending activity, successful transactions, fees, and merchant connection status in the Payments area.
Transactions remain linked to their payment order and, when used, the invoice snapshot, customer, job, estimate, contract, and technician references.
850 Work uses provider-hosted checkout and tokenized provider references instead of collecting card numbers or CVV values.
Clear costs
The 850 Work software subscription remains separate from payment processing. For a standard U.S. domestic online card, 850 Work reports Stripe's 2.9% plus 30 cents processing estimate separately from the 0.5% 850 Work platform fee. Other methods, international cards, currency conversion, disputes, and special products can have different Stripe charges. Stripe deducts supported fees from the connected merchant payout; 850 Work does not hold the customer's funds.
Payment boundaries
850 Payments is the 850 Work payment experience, while Stripe provides merchant onboarding, hosted checkout, card processing, verification, and payouts. Sensitive provider keys stay in server-side secret storage. Payment events use encrypted metadata, idempotency controls, signed internal requests, signed webhooks, retry queues, audit records, and reconciliation checks.
